I'm Mark. I make music, theatre and software.
I'm a multi-disciplined, dedicated and collaborative freelance musician, both as a performer (musical director, pianist, keys player for theatre) and behind the scenes; composing and arranging music, programming keyboards in MainStage and producing performance quality backing tracks.

Classically trained as a pianist, with lots of experience playing in modern popular styles.
With my unique background as a software engineer, choral singer and theatre practitioner, I'm equally at home coaching an ensemble, working with individual singers on acting through song, and navigating the increasingly techincal aspects of modern theatre.

Starting from a piano vocal score, an early sketch in Bandcamp, or even just a voice note(!) to a fully orchestrated arrangement.
Experienced in both traditional symphonic orchestral textures, and modern rock/pop and synth genres.
With a vast library and experience with high quality sample libraries, I can also realise your music as performance ready tracks.

30 years experience working with music engraving software. Mostly Finale and in recent years Sibelius as well.
I can deliver a song transcription as a piano vocal score with a tight turnaround, all the way up to publish-quality parts and score for a full opera with full symphonic orchestration.

I have been using Mainstage for 15 years, both as a performer and a programmer.
My background in software gives me the technical knowledge to build a rock-solid, performance tuned concert that won't fail at a crucial moment. And as a musician I have the ear to build patches that are both musical and a joy to play.

Across a broad range of styles - choral, orchestral, sound-scapes and musical theatre.
I can write for sync with existing footage, or write standalone compositions.
